Chateau Lake Louise
IMPORTANT NOTICE: As of August 11th, the Chateau Lake Louise is sold out for the nights of September 9th through 13th. However rooms are still available from the 14th through the 18th. Additionally, alternative accommodations have been arranged with the Deer Lodge (5 minute walk from the Chateau), Lake Louise Inn (4.5 Km from the Chateau) and Mountaineer Lodge (also 4.5 Km from the Chateau), for the entire duration of the conference (see below).
The meeting will be held at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, a spectacular 5 star Fairmont hotel overlooking the lake and glacier and surrounded by fantastic hikes. September is early Fall and the forests of Banff National Park will be in splendid golden color. While there will be snow on the mountain tops the weather should be very mild. Special rates have been negotiated with the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise for rooms and meals for the meeting plus for 3 days prior and following, should you wish to spend some additional vacation time at this amazing venue.
Internet Access at Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise: Individuals interested in obtaining in-room internet access while at the conference are encouraged to consider signing up for the free Fairmont President's Club. Signing up for the President's club will provide guests with free in-room internet access, which would otherwise cost $14.95 per day. Individuals can sign-up for the President's club in advance of the conference (which will save time at check-in) or at check-in.
The room costs on conference nights (12th through 15th, meeting ends on the afternoon of the 16th) includes all meals (including the banquet) and coffee breaks.
Alternative Accommodations
As mentioned above, the Chateau Lake Louise is full as of August 11th 2010. Below are a number of alternative accommodation options:
Deer Lodge: This venue is within walking distance of the Chateau Lake Louise.

Below are the various room options available from the Deer Lodge:
Lodge accommodation at the rate of $155.00 (CAN$) plus a 2% Tourism Improvement Fee and 9% tax per night. The Lodge room has One Double Bed or Two Twin Beds, and a full bath. Please note that this room does not come with a hairdryer or coffee maker.
Superior Lodge accommodation at the rate of $165.00 (CAN$) plus a 2% Tourism Improvement Fee and 9% tax per night. The Superior Lodge room has One Double Bed or One Double Bed and One Single Bed, and a full bath. Please note that this room does not come with a hairdryer or coffee maker.
Tower accommodation at the rate of $230.00 (CAN$) plus a 2% Tourism Improvement Fee and 9% tax per night. The Tower room has one queen bed, full bath, hardwood floors, small sitting area, telephone, coffee maker, and hairdryer.
Heritage accommodation at the rate of $240.00 (CAN$) plus a 2% Tourism Improvement Fee and 9% tax per night. The Heritage room has two double beds, full bath, private balcony, telephone, coffee maker, and hairdryer.
Heritage accommodation at the rate of $255.00 (CAN$) plus a 2% Tourism Improvement Fee and 9% tax per night. The Heritage room has one king bed, full bath, private balcony, telephone, coffee maker, and hairdryer.
Lake Louise Inn: This venue is not within walking distance of the Chateau Lake Louise, but is easily reached by car (4.5 Km).

Mountaineer Lodge: This venue is not within walking distance of the Chateau Lake Louise, but is easily reached by car (4.5 Km).
In order to book a room please phone 1-403-522-3844 or faxing 1-403-522-3902. They will charge the 1st night's deposit upon reservation. The remainder of
the balance is due upon arrival. There is also have a 72 hour cancellation policy.

Special rates can be provided by informing the hotel that you are with the Chateau Xenopus Conference at the time of booking.

Standard Double rooms with 2 double beds, private bath, satellite TV, in room coffee and tea in our original building with exterior access located on the 1st or 2nd floor no elevator. The rate for this room is $155.00 + 9% taxes + 2% Tourism Improvement Fee per room per night. This rate is based on double occupancy. Extra $15.00 shall be charged per person to a maximum 4 persons.
Deluxe Queen with 1 queen size bed private bath, satellite TV, in room coffee and tea with mini fridge and microwave in our Main Lodge building with interior access located on the 1st or 2nd floor no elevator. The rate for this room is $189.00 + 9% taxes + 2% Tourism Improvement Fee per room per night. This rate is based on double occupancy. Maximum 2 persons.
Deluxe Queen with 2 queen size beds private bath, satellite TV, in room coffee and tea with mini fridge and microwave in our Main Lodge building with interior access located on 1st or 2nd floor no elevator. The rate for this room is $199.00 + 9% taxes + 2% Tourism Improvement Fee per room per night. This rate is based on double occupancy. Extra $15.00 shall be charged per person to a maximum 4 persons.
